Terms and conditions of use of the portal

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) hereby informs you that access to and use of the website and all subdomains and directories included therein (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Portal) are subject to the terms set out in this Legal Notice, without prejudice to the fact that access to any of these services or content may require the acceptance of additional General Conditions.

CSIC reserves the right to make changes to the Portal without prior notice, in order to update, correct, modify, add, or delete content or design. Since information is not updated immediately, we suggest that you always check the validity and accuracy of the information, services, and content presented. Likewise, the conditions and terms contained in this Notice may vary, so we invite you to review these terms when you visit the Portal again.

CSIC is not liable for any damages that may arise from the use of the tools and information contained on the Website in relation to decisions regarding the initiation, development, or outcome of administrative procedures. Such decisions must be verified with the competent centers, agencies, or departments. In any case, the information and content of this website may not be used in proceedings against the Public Administration, which accepts no responsibility for any discrepancies that may exist between the printed documents of the competent Administration and the electronic publication on these pages.

Intellectual and industrial property rights

Both the design of the Portal and its source codes, as well as the logos, trademarks, and other distinctive signs that appear on it, belong to the CSIC or collaborating entities and are protected by the corresponding intellectual and industrial property rights.

The information available on this website, unless expressly stated otherwise, may be reused; its total or partial reproduction, modification, distribution, and communication for commercial and non-commercial uses is authorized, subject to the following conditions:

  • The distortion of the content of the information is prohibited under any circumstances.
  • The user is obliged to cite the source of the documents subject to reuse.
  • The user is obliged to mention the date of the last update of the documents subject to reuse.
  • The CSIC declares its respect for the intellectual and industrial property rights of third parties; therefore, if you consider that this site might be violating your rights, please contact the Spanish National Research Council.

Links or hyperlinks

Users who wish to establish a hyperlink between their website and that of the CSIC should bear in mind the following:

Frames

The CSIC expressly prohibits the use of “framing” or the use by third parties of any other mechanisms that alter the design, original configuration, or content of its Portal.

Privacy

The purpose of the collection and automated processing of personal data collected through this website is to manage the service requested by the user and to follow up on queries raised. The legal basis for the processing is the consent of the data subject and its necessity for the performance of the public functions and missions of the CSIC, which is the data controller. It is not possible to predict the time limits for deletion, as these will depend on the specific case and service requested.

The regulations require that the inventory of processing activities be made public by electronic means. The CSIC’s Register of Processing Activities (RAT) can be found in the Transparency section of this website. Through the links provided in that section, you can access the RATs corresponding to the CSIC’s central organization and those corresponding to the CSIC’s Centers and Institutes, which specify, for each processing operation, the identity of the controller, the legal basis, the purposes of the processing, the category of data, the deletion provisions, and a general description of the technical and organizational security measures.

In accordance with Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and related legislation, the CSIC undertakes to comply with the obligation of secrecy with regard to personal data and the duty to treat it confidentially after carrying out the corresponding risk analyses, in particular, in accordance with the first additional provision of the LOPDGDD, the corresponding security measures provided for in the National Security Scheme necessary to prevent its alteration, loss, unauthorized processing, or access.

Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation, opposition, limitation, or portability at any time by writing to the General Secretariat of the CSIC at C/Serrano 117, 28006 MADRID (Spain), enclosing a photocopy of their ID card, or via the CSIC’s Electronic Registry located on its Electronic Headquarters, for which they must have a recognized electronic certificate. The CSIC reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy to adapt it to new legislation, case law, or interpretations by the Spanish Data Protection Agency. In this case, the CSIC will announce such changes, clearly indicating the modifications made in advance and requesting, if deemed necessary, acceptance of them.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The applicable law in the event of a dispute or conflict of interpretation of the terms that make up this Legal Notice, as well as any issue related to the services of this Portal, shall be Spanish law.

For the resolution of any conflict that may arise during a visit to the Portal or the use of the services offered therein, the CSIC and the User agree to submit to the Judges and Courts of the User’s place of residence, provided that this is located in Spanish territory.
